10 Second Anime - Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon - Episode 1

Kobayashi, a young professional woman, finds herself the master of a powerful dragon who has decided to become a cute maid for her. Season Premiere.

Episode 1 - "The Strongest Maid in History, Touru! (Well, She is a Dragon)"

Heh.

A cute maid drops out of the sky AND is an all-powerful dragon? Sign me up!

The opening sequence which introduced both Touru and Kobayashi captured very well both their personalities.

It was pretty clear that Touru decided how her maid outfit should look just passing over the Maid Café Cosplayers.

I had to laugh out this huge dragon turned into this cute little busty maid and just said, "Ta da!" Way too cute!

The OP hinted at a huge cast of huge dragons. This is going to be fun!

Kobayashi types fast.

Aw. Touru really loves Kobayashi for some reason.

Touru and Kobayashi are going to have a tough time adjusting to each other.

Apparently, Kobayashi invited Touru to stay with her as a maid in a drunken stupor. Part of what drew me to writing about this show weekly is the mystery surrounding their encounter. How did Kobayashi end up in the mountains? What happened to that big sword that was stuck in the big dragon's side? Why are maids the best? Well, we don't need to answer that last question. They just are, okay?

Touru has all sorts of magical powers associated with dragons. This is another thing that drew me to the show. The casual dropping of dragon names and myths from different cultures.

Herensuge is how the Basque say dragon. Its also the name of a specific 7-headed dragon associated with the Basque's veneration of St. Michael the Archangel.

So, dragons can just call each other over the phone... This Fafnir guy sounds like a laugh riot.

Fafnir is a Norse god who was cursed and turned into a dragon. A version of him also appears in Wagner's The Ring of the Nibelung.

Another thing that I like about this show is how it isn't set in high school. Touru and her coworker Takiya are software programmers and coders who tend to complain about other developers, managers and changing specifications. This is too much like real life...

But they're both closet otaku which is why the subject of maids and maid cosplay came up frequently enough for a drunk Kobayashi to talk to an injured dragon about it.

I have a feeling Kobayashi's coding skills were necessary to undo the spell which kept the sword in Touru's side. Or something like that.

Touru's pretty cute when she's being overprotective and jealous. She's also cute when she keeps calling everyone "inferior foolish humans."

Um, when Kobayashi took off Touru's maid outfit, where did her tail go?

There really is a culture shock between dragons and humans. Laundry is a foreign thing to a being who can clean herself with her saliva but just wears her own scales all day.

Ha! Fafnir has nothing good to say about hygiene. Quetzalcoatl has a nice fufufu ara ara ma onee-san voice.

Quetzalcoatl is an Aztec dragon who was also the god of wind and learning. That's why this show's Quetzalcoatl is called "the knowledgeable" one.

Interesting that Touru said her bad dream was "from another world." Dragons don't sleep, which means they don't dream. Is this another hint of how Kobayashi found herself far away in the mountains during her drunk walk home?

That search engine may say Ken Saku Kun, but the url in the address bar says google. co. jp. Also, Windows 7 and Chrome on the desktop.

Must be nice to have a dragon that clears up the weather for you.

No, Touru. Sniffing is also not okay...
